  • Leave Room for God
When it pleased God… —Galatians 1:15As servants of God, we must learn to make room for Him— to give God “elbow room.” We plan and figure and predict that this or that will happen, but we forget to make room for God to come in as He chooses. Would we be surprised if God came…
  • The Eighth Decade of Life and the Ultimate Purpose of God
Turning 69 earlier this month, which soberingly means entering my seventieth year and eighth decade, makes me tremble with joyful eagerness not to waste my life. As the year and the decade turn, I have been thinking about Jesus’ final words, “Teach [all the nations] to observe all that I have commanded you” (Matthew 28:20). […]
  • The Advantage of Weakness (Part 2 of 2)

Looking forward to worship…

From the desk of the pastor:

Hebrews 10:23-25–“Let us hold fast the confession of our hope without wavering, for he who promised is faithful. And let us consider how to stir up one another to love and good works, not neglecting to meet together, as is the habit of some, but encouraging one another, and all the more as you see the Day drawing near.” ESV

It is Saturday once again…another week has drawn to a close and we look forward to another eventful week. One of the best ways to prepare ourselves for the coming week is by heeding the words in the above verses. When we gather together we have the opportunity to encourage one another in the common faith that we hold in Jesus Christ.

When we gather together to worship God, we have the opportunity to ‘give’ encouragement to one another and, when we do so, we will ‘get’ encouragement in return.

I look forward to having the opportunity to encourage you tomorrow!
